Moscow Recognize National Transitional Council
World News Wednesday, May 25th, 2011 Follow @summnewspaperMoscow has recognized the Libyan opposition group National Transitional Council as the successor to Libya in the future.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with Libyan opposition leader Abdel Rahman Shalgam.
“The National Transitional Council did not ask for a recognition as a legitimate representation for Libya, they just want to be seen as a legitimate negotiating partner for the future of Libya,” said Lavrov. As reported by OfficialWire Wednesday (25/05/2011).
Moscow abstained when the vote the use of military force the case of Libya, in the UN Security Council meeting.
England has reached out to the Libyan opposition groups, as well as the United States. The opposition will even make its representative office in Washington.
